Growing up in the General Motors car dealership, in Storm Lake, IA, early on we became very familiar with many types of auto/light/and medium duty trucks. At age 14, I had the opportunity to tag along with some of the guys in the shop, to transport 2 drag cars, a ‘66 Chevelle, and a ‘68 Camaro, to a little 1/8 mile dragstrip, Humboldt County Dragway. This was all done with pickup trucks and the old school A frame tow bar. This setup later gave way to a much more modern car trailer. Wow, those were the days, we learned some valuable lessons in transportation!
I graduated high school in 1977, and married Pat Klindt in 1979. Along came 3 sons, Adam, Andrew, and Cass. And did it get busy!! Unbelievable!
I worked primarily in the medium duty truck service side of the business for nearly 20 years, before moving into the sales and leasing side in 1995, until June of 2015, when we sold the dealership.
After 35+ years of owning a dealership, it was time to get started on a new venture. The new venture, Sun Chaser Elite, offers a variety of services, including; roll-off container services, moving services, and transporting equipment, recreational, travel trailers, light ag, and auto/truck etc.
In the fall of 2015, a local Storm Lake business, Taylor Construction, was selling out after many years in business. On that sale, we purchased a 1995 medium duty Chevrolet Kodiak with a Stellar roll-off equipment set-up, along with their 5 bodies. This was the very same truck that I was part of up-fitting with Stellar Industries Inc. and selling to Taylor Construction in 1995. It was like finding an old friend… we were on our way!!
We feel like we are getting back to our roots, and would like the opportunity to be of service to you.
